Apollo Creed has found the absolute best beer in the history of the world. The Heinzelmannchen Brewery in Sylva, NC is run by the German braumaster Dieter Kuhn and his wife. Heinzelmannchen is absolutely incredible… in fact, as Apollo was admiring the man-size Growlers and sipping seemingly bottomless kegs of fresh, cold craft beer, a man who drove ’173 mi – about 2 hours 56 mins’ according to Google Maps all the way from Davidson, NC just for a 2-liter refill of his Growler.

For anyone driving anywhere remotely close to Sylva, NC, I highly recommend a detour over to Heinzelmannchen Brewery on Mill Street in downtown Sylva. Taste his selection and take home a Growler. Then, walk down the street to the Mill & Main Restaurant and destroy a pie or two with a fresh Gopher Ale from the tap. Apollo demands it.

Apollo thinks that Fontana Dam is the baddest dam around. It’s like a ‘dam’s dam’. Apollo spent his time on the edge and was tempted to see if he could make it all the way down the spillway tube or whatever it’s called… but better judgment unfortunately prevailed.

There are two things harder than the rock beneath Apollo Creed. Left bicep, right bicep. We could not locate a single rock in all of Pisgah National Forest that was harder than Apollo’s guns.

Waiting for trains in Johnson City

Well, no train ever came. Maybe because Johnson City just doesn’t have enough commerce to warrant product deliveries by rail… or maybe Apollo was just far too impatient to keep waiting around. In any case, Apollo recommends this wallpaper to remind you just how much embarrassment and humiliation he suffered taking these pictures in the middle of downtown.
